Ingredients:

Vegetable Oil (about 2 tsp)

5 garlic cloves minced (about 1 tbs)

5 tbs Hoisin Sauce

1 tbsp chunky peanut butter

1 tbs sugar

1 tsp sambal oelek/sambal chili paste

6 tbs water

1/4 tsp sesame oil (optional)

Steps:

  1. Heat oil and saute garlic on low heat. Do not burn the garlic!
  2. Right before your garlic turn slightly golden brown, add the hoisin sauce, peanut butter, sugar, and chili paste. Mix until ingredients are well combined.
  3. Start off with 3 tbs of water and add this to your sauce. Mix for about a minute. If you want your sauce creamier, add more water. I added about 6 tbs. *****Depending on which peanut butter you use- you might need to use less water = chunky peanut butter vs. creamy peanut butter. – I don’t like a light colored sauce and I prefer mine on the thick side. The longer you let your sauce sit, the thicker it will get and may burn.******
  4. Once you get to your desired consistency, turn off heat, add sesame oil and mix. Serve sauce immediately.
