I decided to make Garlic Fried Rice, which is a Filipino recipe aka Sinangag. We love to eat garlic fried rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s pretty simple and basic to make. You only need 4 ingredients! This pairs well with any side dish. Stay tuned for the next video/recipe where I show you a dish I love having this with!
Ingredients:
Half a bulb of garlic chopped
1 cup of day old rice
5-6 garlic cloves (or 3 if you’re not really into that much garlic… I am!)
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
A splash of soy sauce
Optional:
tsp of garlic powder
sliced green onions for garnish
Directions:
- Chop your garlic (do not mince because we don’t want this garlic to burn).
- Heat up oil on low. Slowly toast your garlic until fragrant and lightly golden brown.
- Once garlic is golden brown, add your day old rice and mix with the garlic until warmed through.
- Season with salt and pepper. Adjust tasting if necessary. Sometimes I like to add garlic powder for more garlic flavor.
- Add a splash of soy sauce for color and mix until soy sauce is well combined.
- Enjoy!
