I was inspired to make garlic noodles after having them at an Asian Restaurant in San Francisco. This dish is packed with delicious garlic flavor and will not disappoint! Quick to make with simple ingredients. Use my substitutions if you are vegan or vegetarian. This pairs well with the Chinese Pork BBQ dish I recently made.

Ingredients:

1 lb of fresh pancit noodles/ yellow noodles or spaghetti (Vegan/Vegetarian option – use spaghetti)

3 tbsp unsalted butter and 1 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsn chopped garlic or pounded on a mortal and pestle (or more – I used 8 cloves of garlic)

2 tbsn Oyster Sauce (Vegan/Vegetarian option: use Mushroom Sauce)

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp red chili flakes (or more depending on your spice level)

black pepper to taste

Chopped Green onions for garnish

Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish (I used about 1/2 cup)

Instructions:

  1. Cook pasta/ noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. Melt butter and olive oil on low heat.
  3. Add garlic and cook on very low heat until fragrant – we don’t want to brown the garlic. We just want to infuse the butter with garlic flavoring.
  4. Add chili flakes, oyster sauce, sugar, garlic powder, and maggi seasoning.
  5. Cook on low just to warm through and ingredients combine.
  6. Toss your noodles with the garlic butter mixture.
  7. Garnish with green onions and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Serve immediately.
