Beef Salpicao

October is Filipino American History month. In honor of Fil-AM history month, I decided to make a quick filipino dish my friend taught me. This dish is quick and easy to make. This can be enjoyed on its own, with rice, or as “pulutan”- a term meaning a snack with your drink. You’ll be amazed at how tender, mouth watering, and juicy the beef is. This dish is packed with savory, spicy, and garlicky flavors. You’ll thank me later after you make this dish =)
There really are no set measurements for this dish. It is all up to taste. Below is a guide of my estimated measurements. Please use the video as a guide to visually see how much of each ingredient I added.

Ingredients:
1/2 lb tri-tip cubed (1″ cubes)
Freshly Grounded Black Pepper
Garlic Powder
1 tbsn Worcestershire sauce
Salt
3 banana peppers sliced (remove seeds for less spice)
Half a bulb of garlic chips
1 tsp Oyster Sauce
Butter
Vegetable oil
Directions:
- Marinate meat with Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, garlic powder, and two pinches of salt between 30 minutes – 3 hours.
- Heat up your cast iron skillet or wok. Melt some butter with vegetable oil. Saute your banana peppers. Once peppers are slightly charred with a bite, set aside.
- Heat up butter and oil if needed, turn heat to low and saute garlic until fragrant and lightly golden brown. Set aside.
- Turn up the heat to high, add butter if needed and add your tri tip. You may need to cook in batches. Let liquid evaporate, add oyster sauce, and finish with salt to taste. Add half the garlic and peppers and mix.
- Garnish with the other half of peppers, garlic, and green onions.
