Hi Guys, I thought I’d share this Thai dish I made. Thai Basil Chicken aka Spicy Basil Chicken aka Pad Kra Pao Gai aka Gai Pad Bai Gaprow… This dish is super simple and quick to make and packed with tons of flavor. It’s up to you with how much red baby chili peppers you want to put in, just depends on your spice level.

I hope you enjoy this recipe!

Ingredients:

4 Thai Red Baby Chili Peppers (more if you want it spicy. I used 7 and it had a good kick)

1 Red Bell Pepper

4 cloves Garlic

1 lb. of Ground Chicken

1 tblsp. Soy Sauce

1 tbsp. of Fish Sauce

2 tsp Oyster Sauce

1 1/2 tsp of dark soy sauce (optional)

1 1/2 tsp. Brown Sugar

White Ground pepper to taste

1 bunch of Thai Basil leaves

Egg

Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Chop bell pepper into half match stick size.

2. Peel 4 garlic cloves and cut stems off 4 chili peppers. Pound garlic and peppers in a mortar and pestle until combined.

3. Heat oil and add garlic and pepper mixture. Saute until fragrant and garlic starts to brown.

4. Add chicken once garlic starts to brown and break apart in pan.

5. Once chicken starts to cook, add soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and mix.

6. Add bell peppers and mix.

7. Season with white pepper. Once mixture is done cooking, turn off the heat.

8. Take a handful of your basil and let it wilt in the mixture.

9. Serve with rice and fried egg.

10. To make egg- heat oil on high heat, add egg, season with salt and pepper, once golden crust forms, flip egg over, turn heat to medium, and quick fry.

Serve with steamed rice.
