Arrabbiata means ANGRY in Italian. I love this sauce because it has a spicy kick to it. This dish is very simple and quick to make. I usually eat this with shrimp but I didn’t have shrimp on hand. I did have Italian sausages, so I decided to throw that in this dish.
Here are the ingredients:
- Penne Pasta
- 3-4 Italian sausage links- sausage taken out of its casing
- 5 cloves of garlic minced
- 1/2 of a large sized onion chopped
- Handful of basil leaves chiffonade
- 1 Tblspn. Red Chili Flakes
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
- Olive Oil
- Parmesan cheese
- Heat up oil and saute garlic and onion. Season with salt and pepper.
- Once onion is softened, add red chili flakes and basil.
- Add sauce and simmer for 20 minutes on low heat.
- Cook Italian sausage in another pan.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions.
- Combine all ingredients and garnish with parmesan cheese.
Enjoy!
