*Please note there isn’t an actual “recipe” with the amount of ingredients used. The ingredients used is based on your taste. Please watch the video as a guide.

Serves: 1-2 people

Ingredients:

6 – 8 oz Extra Firm Tofu

1/8 cup of Cornstarch

1/8 – 1/4 cup finely diced Yellow Onion

3 Garlic cloves chopped

1 stalk Green Onions chopped- separate the white parts from the green

1 Thai Chilis minced or any type of chili you would like to use depending on your spice preference and level.

*Calamansi

*Knorr Liquid Seasoning

Salt and Pepper

Vegetable Oil

2 tsp of Butter (optional)

*If you don’t have calamansi, you can substitute and use lemon. If you don’t have Knorr Liquid Seasoning, you can substitute and use low sodium soy sauce. If you want to take the short cut route, use Calamansi Knorr Liquid Seasoning.

Directions:

  1. Pat dry your tofu. Make sure to take the excess moisture out.
  2. Cut your tofu into bite sized rectangular pieces.
  3. Dust your tofu with cornstarch.
  4. Using a heavy bottom skillet or cast iron, heat your oil (medium heat).
  5. Add the tofu and let it crisp up and turn light to medium golden brown before tossing to cook the other sides.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Depending on the pan you are using, you don’t want to burn your onion or garlic, so add these ingredients 2-3 minutes before you’re done cooking. Lower the temperature of your heat if needed.
  8. Lower heat and add the white parts of the green onions, yellow onions, and thai chilis. Saute until fragrant.
  9. Add your garlic and saute until fragrant.
  10. Drizzle Knorr liquid seasoning to taste.
  11. Finish off with butter.
  12. Garnish with green onions.
  13. *If you’re not using calamansi liquid seasoning, finish off by squirting lemon or calamansi on your tofu.

*Option: Serve on a sizzling plate.
